Safer Hands Initiative (SHI) is a youth-led, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to providing and ensuring access to basic maternal and child healthcare services in underserved communities. By providing education and empowerment of frontline rural healthcare providers, they work towards ensuring every pregnancy undergoes a safe delivery devoid of common complications.
Through their Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) Outreach in 2022, SHI distributed 1,500 clean birth kits to pregnant women across 5 states in southern and northern Nigeria. Some of these include Isheri Olofin PHC, Ileepo PHC, Elf/Ikotun PHC and Ipaja/Ayobo PHC in Lagos, through their partnership with the Alimosho medical corpers.
